- We plant about a quarter of an acre of potatoes every year. The biggest potato grown is Aran Banners and they are planted in drills. Other potatoes that are planted are, Main Crop, British Queens, Champions, and Kerr Pinks. The neighbours help each other picking them. They are planted in the furrows of the drills and are then covered by a plough.
