    the vessel. The crew which consisted of Graignamanagh men asked Freaney for some blocks to light the fire. Freaney said he could not give them as the captain was on board, but he told them to pull out the boat from the bank and to call him "Blind Freaney the Robber". They did so, Immediatly Freaney pretended to be insulted and began to throw blocks at the boatman. Soon the men had plenty of firing.
