   Every night that he washed his feet he would throw out the water and he used to see the black dog. At last one of the neighbours told him not to throw out the water. He did so and the black dog was seen no more.

   Our house is situated in Ullard. Ullard is a townsland partly in the barony of St. Mullins Co. Carlow and partly in the barony of Gowran Co. Kilkenny and is a distance of two and a half miles north of Graignamanagh on the old road from Borris to Graignamanagh. Mrs. Baird who is 98 years of
