  1. 11. Thrush - Let a child who has never seen his father, blow his breath while fasting, into the patient's mouth for a few mornings in succession.
    12. Boils - Soap and sugar pounded together, and made into a poultice, will soon draw away poisonous matter.
    13. Fester after Vaccination - Let the father of the child smoke his pipe, down on the vaccination marks, and it will check "fester."
    14 Scurvy - Rub the water which the goat passes to the affected parts.
    15 Sore Throat - Apply roasted onions
    16 Sprain - Rub goose-grease liberally, and it gives immediate relief.
    17 Corns - An ivy leaf placed on the corn is a good cure
    18. Worms in children - Soot and salt mixed with water and taken in the morning, while still fasting.
    19 General (a) Nettles boiled, and eaten, three times during the month of May, will keep sickness from us during the year.
    (b) The "bread" or "wool" used when anointing, if kept, and rubbed to the sore, or swelling
    (c) The end of the candle burned on Xmas night is used in the same way as (b)
    (d) The seventh son in the family has a cure.
    The seventh son born on Good Friday, and baptised on Easter Sunday can perform "Charms."
