- 1. Headache - Boil the "Blessed Virgin's Herb", (which grows in a sheltered place by fences, has a long slender stalk, and white flowers in month of May) and drink the juice
2. Bruises - Apply "Alder" leaves to the wounds.
3. Poisoned Cut - Allow the dog to lick the wound, and it will not become septic.
4. Boils and Ulcers - Boil the weed, which grows by the river, and is called locally "Meach an Dá hAbha", and rub the juice to the affected parts.
5. Kidney Disease - Eat Parsley with plenty of salt.
