    Sore Teeth
When people get sore teeth they put a clove into each one. The clove warms up the tooth and in many cases cures it. If there is no hole in the tooth they grind up the clove and put it around it.
    Burns.
Sweet-oil rubbed on to the diseased part is the best known local cure for a burn. Baking soda is also used if the injury is slight.
    Sprains
The cure for a spain is to hold the diseased part under a tap or spout of cold water. This ruduces the swelling.
    Colds.
Milk heated and pepper and butter mixed with it is the only local cure for colds.
