    Scanlan's of Lisatotan, Shanagolden, OConnor's of Riddleston, Rathkeale, and the Scanlan's of Tynies, Shanagolden, and the McMahon's of Creeves, Shanagolden.
    The majority of those people were supported by the Land League, some emigrated to America and became very wealthy and rent thousands of pounds to their brothers to buy farms. One family named the Downeys became wealthy contractors in S.America. A family of ONeill were imprisoned for a term of years for taking forcible possession of their home.
    Lord Monteagle of Mount-Trenchard, Foynes evicted all his tenants, (he was great grand father to the present Lord) and intended bringing in planters. He established a blue school, which is situated at the foot of the Kerry Hill West of Shanagolden. The grand father of the present owner of Craggard Mr Daniel Hishon, objected to clearance and cleared the Master of the Blue
