    built, there is one very ancient house there. It is very large in size. The present owner is Mr. Hunt. The district was more thickly populated in former years, because recently numerous people have emigrated to America, and various foreign countries and others have departed this life.
    The people are young and middle aged with the exceptionof thre over seventy. Namely Mr. Maunsel, Michael and Catherine Cregan of Ballinvirick. Mr. Maunset is eighty eight years of age. He is a daily reader of the Independent. The paper is the first thing he looks for every morning before his breakfast.
