- The farmers plough and harrow and roll the land and make drills. The farmers wife cuts the potatoes and the men lay them in the furrow.
Then they spread the farm manure and close the drills. Farmers grow from one to two acres of potatoes each year.
During the summer months the farmers earth and spray the potatoes. Then in October they plough them out or dig them. The farmers help each other by sending some of his men to another farm near by for a few days, and that farmer sends back his own men to him for a few days.
