worn were home made and found a ready market locally. There were two corn mills in Drangan three hundred years ago, one near Drangan Bridge on the Newtown road, the old mill race can still be seen between Michael Slatterys' and Ronans' farms. The other was in Ballylusky, and both of them are mentioned in "The Civil Survey of Tipperary". These industries supplied the local needs. Besides these large mills nearly every farmer had a quern for grinding dried wheat into a fine meal. The meal used to be mixed with new mil, and was called "praupeen", a very sustaining and palatable food. [?] of these old querns are still in this parish.
