  1. During the past century many things occurred which remain in the people's mind, boldly and prominently, and one of these is a great storm.
    This storm occurred in the year 1839 about the sixth of January, ninety-eight years ago. The people were not as well prepared for destruction as the people of nowadays, especially for storms.
