- About one hundred years ago there was an old Chapel on the hill of Newtown. It was called the Rock Chapel. It was a real old fashioned building. There was no Confessional boxes, in it like what there are in the Chapels now. The priests used to have to hear Confessions in the houses. On Sunday he would announce that there would be Confessions heard at such a house during the week. Then the people would all to there to that house and the Parish Priest would hear some of there Confessions in the kitchen and the Curate would hear the rest of them outside in the barn. He would have a different house for each week. There are things belonging to it in our Chapel now, on the entrance to our grave-yard there is a cross erected that belonged to the old Chapel. Where the Chapel was there is a little house now, and some time ago there lived in it a little woman and she was supposed to be a witch. She was scarcely three feet tall with big long teeth she used to drive about the country in a little trap and white ass and she used to have to bring out a stool to get up on the trap.
