- There is a fort in Balrath. It is all surrounded with lone bushes. It is circular. And on the approach to it there stands rocks some fifteen feet high of an enormous weight. It is dished in the centre and it is noted for ghosts being in it as people often went astray in the field it is in. There is a story connected with this fort. Once a upon a time a man went to cut a bush in it and the saw was pulled out of his hand and the saw was never seen again. The man had a bit of the bush cut and it closed in again.
