There are special fairs for pigs but special fairs are not held for the sale of sheep or horses.
June is said to be the best month in the year for fairs. - The three local fairs held in our district are:- Kilbeggan, Mullingar, and Tyrrellspass. These fairs are all held in the towns. Dealings are sometimes made for cattle, sheep and horses at cross-raods and at farm-houses. This is still done in our district.(continues on next page)
