  1. Some years ago a man named Edward Tuite of Tuitestown Walshestown grandfathler of the present Pat Tuite held the championship of Westmeath for wrestling. Football matches in those days always wound up with a wrestling bout. Edward Tuite and his brother John were always victorious.
    On one occasion Edward threw a man named Jack Farrell over a high hedge on to the road. His shoulder was injured and he afterwards grew a hump and henceforth was called the hump Farrell.
    Another man James Headun held a record for carrying heavy sacks of oats. He could take a sack containing 42 stone of oats on his back, load it on a dray cart and then carry it on to the boat at Coolnahay harbour with apparent ease.
    However Arthur Gaynor Balrath Frewin preformed a feat that has yet to be excelled. A flock of stairs lit on
