  1. The local fairs are held in Mullingar each month. Buyers often come to the farmers house and buy whatever stock he has for sale at his house. This was done in former times and is carried out to the present day. All the local fairs are held in the fair green in Mullingar. The pig fair is held on Monday and the cattle fair is held on the following day. A special fair is held once a year for the horses. This takes place on the streets.
