  1. The landlords of Walshestown were not severe and had sympathy with their tenants and evictions were few.
    There was only one eviction in Walshestown within the last ninety years. This eviction was of a widow and her eight children. There was no rent owed but some man offered a higher rent. The landlord agreed on conditions that he would take possession himself.
    The man went one day with the bailifs to evict the family. The children, though they were very young made a great resistance. At
