- Long ago there lived in Walshestown a poor widow who had five children. The eldest set out one day to see would anyone employ him.
He travelled all day but it was all in vain. In the evening when he was weary and lame he chanced to come to a farmer's door where he asked for employment.
In the farmer's house dwelt his wife and his daughter. The farmer was in need of a boy to plough and sow for him.
The young boy grew up a man and the farmer and his wife died.
The farmer left the farm to the boy and the daughter for his bride.- Collector
