    There was a man one time and he had a very long journey before him. The night was falling and he had no place to rest for the night. He met a man on the road and asked him where would get lodging for the night. This man knowing that his fathers house was haunted gave him and told him to go to his fathers house which was only up the avenue a bit away from them. He then told him that there was an idle bed and lots of eating and drinking so you can help yourself. The traveller thanked him and made his way to the house, opened the door and finding everything as the gentleman had told him he was very thankful. The house was lit up and a big fire burning on the hearth and a table with all kinds of eatables on it. He set work getting ready a meal for himself and he ate to his hearts content. When the meal was over he sat over on a [?] that was placed beside the fire and took out his pipe and just as he was about to light his pipe a strange sound caught his ear. He looked around
