- There is the ruins of an old Catholic Church at Mayglass. It was burned by the yeomen in the troubled period of '98It is said that any person who passes that road after twelve o'clock at night is followed by a black dog with eyes like fire.
When the dog reaches the Chapel ruins it disappears, and the person faints, and does not recover until the Sign of the Cross is made on him with Holy Water.Near the ruins there is a tree, and there is a light seen there some nights, it is said that there was a yeoman killed there.- Collector
