    On May-Eve there was a great ado selecting the prettiest girl in the Parish and crowning her their Queen after which dancing singing and games were kept up to a late hour at night.

    St. John's Eve was another great night for Merry-making - out-of-doors -
    Bone-fires were lighted on the tops of hills on that night.

    St. Stephen's Day. was also a day of sport. The young men of the parish disguised themselves and went round to the houses collecting money after which followed a Spree
