    Folly House Lane : It is called Folly House Lane, because a man started to build a house and could not finish it so the people called it Folly House Lane.
    Lady Lane : It is called Lady Lane because a rich lady lived there and was captured by the English soldiers on the Quay.
    Mac Morough : Art Mac Morough lived in the present towns land known as MacMorouh.
    Priory Lane : It is called so because there was a priory in it.
    Shamrock-Meadow : It is called the Shamrock Meadow because shamrock grow there.
    Corbet Hill : Its present name is Talbot Hall, when the Insurgents gathered to attack the town in 1798.
    Lovers Lane : It is called Lovers Lane because lovers used to walk there.
    It is called Maiden Lane now.
    Nunnery Lane : It is called Nunnery Lane, because nuns used to live there.
    That's its present name.
