    they would eat their breakfast of "stirabout"
    Then they would work away until dinner time.
    After that they used to put down a pot of potatoes and boil them. Then they would take them up and eat them with salt and butter milk. When the dinner was over they went out and worked again. For their supper they had potatoes, and one herring for the whole family
    Some people had potatoes for all their meals.
