- On one occasion on, returning from one of their many raids, the Fitzgeralds brought captive to Lea castle a beautiful lady. She was tall and graceful, with lovely golden hair flowing down her back, and she was always dressed in white. Soon she came to be loved and respected by everybody, so gentle, kind hearted and obliging was she. From April to October she could be seen on the small hill on the south side of the castle,busily engaged in teasing,spinning, and weaving wool. In the winter she dyed the cloth and made garments for the inhabitants of the castle.(continues on next page)
