Aengus asked the priest of the place who was buried in that grave, and was told it was an old man who never did anything remarkable in his life, but whose practice it was to invoke the intercession of all the saints of God everyday. Aengus felt that the old man was well rewarded for his devotion and there and then he made up his mind to compile a litany of the Saints which he did afterwards at Tallaght.After the Reformation the Catholic church of Coolbanagher fell into ruins, and a Protestant Church was built near the site of the old one.
