- It was an old custom here to "horn" any person who got married for the second time, as the people did not approve of a second marriage. On the night of the wedding the young men of the district paraded outside the house, armed with empty bottles into which they blew, making a terrible din. Of both bride and bridegroom had been married before the "horning" was carried on with greater vigour. About five or six years ago a pair were horned on the night of their wedding.(continues on next page)
