    was closed they had a board in the (wido) window. Floors were made of clay or flags. Half doors are common in this district. Turf was used for fire. Rush candles were used for light. The candle stick was about three feet high. It stood on four iron legs. There was an iron bar attached to this.
    The candle was struck on a piece of iron at the top.
