    the twons. "Perch fishing" also commenced in May but their fishing was usually the sport of the small boys. The fishing industry has almost died out as the fishermen have stated that the fish have gone out of the water and cannot be caught in such large numbers as formerly. Various causes are given for this, the improved drainage for one, and the "eel fishers" who visit these lakes yearly is another. The local fishermen beleive that the "drag nets" which are used by the "eel fishers" clean away the "fry" on the young fish, and thus cause great injury to the fishing industry.
