    Four pretty maidens all dressed in grey,
    Waiting to see their friends away,
    Stood smiling at the carriage door,
    Such beauties I ne'er saw before.
    II
    Such beaming eyes, and teeth like pearls,
    And oh ! such lovely golden curls,
    Wouldn't it be bliss,
    To steal from them one little kiss.
    III
    If I were twenty five or thirty,
    And see those maidens so nice and purty,
    I wouldn't let a moment pass,
    I'd have my arms around a lass.
    IV
    Alas" Alas" for all my woes,
    The train is whistling - off she goes,
    I see them in the platform stand,
    And can do nought but kiss my hand.
    This song was composed by the late Mr C Coote, (about 35 years ago
    Knocknaveigh, Virginia when he was [?] years of age
