    Near Jasmine shade I espied a fair maid,
    And she sadly complained to the moon.

    Roll on gentle moon guide the travellers away
    While the nightingale sings in full bloom,
    Never again thy sweet vision I'll see,
    By the sweet silvery eight of the moon.
