The churning is done by moving the staff up and down. When the churning is done the staff and churn are washed down. If a stranger enters while they are churning he must take a brash. The butter is taken off and washed till all the milk is washed out. It is then salted and made into meascans. The butter is used at home.
The buttermilk is used at home for baking bread and feeding calves and pigs.
