  2. In the end of September 1839 there arose a terrible wind and there are stories told of the disasters it did. It was said that most houses were thatched and they were all stripped. It was a late harvest and all the crops were out. Larry Carolan's grandfather's flax was mixed with Hugh Dunlop's who used to live where Johnny Fox of Killatee lives. Patrick McDonald and Frank of Crann were about four years old and were put in a box for fear the house would fall.
