    "A patch in time saves nine", means to put a patch on anything in time, would save nine patches.
    "Make the hay, while the sun shines." This proverb, when we take the simple meaning of it, means that a person who has hay to be saved, should wait until he has very fine weather, before he cuts it.
    When it is cut, then he should always take the first opportunity he would get, and save it while the sun shines.
