  1. There is a fort in our land, it is known as Donal Davey's Fort. In the centre of the fort is a rock, it is called the chair because there is a seat cut out of it and under this rock there is a treasure buried. There is a black dog sitting over it guarding it. A neighbour once went to dig for the treasure. His name is Johnie Dockey. He went in the middle of the night so that no-body could see him as he wanted all for himself. He removed the rock and started digging. When he got down a few yards he saw two big lamps shining into his face. They were the dogs eyes. The dog asked him what brought him there and Johnie said "your Honour I'm looking for a treasure."
    The dog lifted a flag and said come down here and you will get it. Johnie went down. He was tumbling for a long time. At last he landed in a room which was all lit up with bulls eyes. In the middle of the room was an awful looking old hag, she had teeth like harrowpins and her hair was like a street broom. She asked Johnie what brought
