- The townland that I live in is Umerafree which means the ridge of the heather. It is in the parish of Carrick macross and the barony of Farney.
There are about seventeen families in Umerafree. The name most common in this townland is Marron. The houses are nearly all slated in this townland. There are not many ruins in Umerafree. There are about five or six people over seventy years.
