   Not many tailors live in this district now, but in years gone by when clothes were made by hand tailors were more numerous.
   Tom Campbell who lives in Anketell Grove gate-house is the best tailor in this county. He does not travel from house to house .
   Tailors do not sit on chairs when they are working. They sit on benches with their legs crossed.
   One saying in connection with the tailor is “Never marry a tailor, for he is always losing cloth. But marry a rousing butcher for he will give you a bowl of broth”
   Special types of clothes are worn on different occasions. When a relative dies, black is worn.
   Shirts are made in the homes. My grandmother had a spinning wheel and spun wool for stockings.
   An old woman from Altadavin often came to my mother for sheep’s wool. She washed it and carded it into wool for knitting socks. It was of a pink colour. I do not know the old woman’s name but she has the spinning wheel yet.
