- (ar lean ón leathanach roimhe)on their leg. They never wore shoes around the village. When they were going to mass they never put on their shoes until they reached the church.
- The people long ago never wore a shoe until they were very old. The shoes they wore were rags twisted round their legs. The shoes were too expensive.
When the people were going in a journey they used carry their shoes in their hands until they were near the end of the journey. Then they would put them on there.
