- The TailorThere is one tailor in Glencar. His house is situated in Shanacashill. The man who ownes it is Patrick O 'Shea.
He makes clothes for the Glencar people. He makes them in his own house. The people themselves get the cloth from the shop and give it to him to make the suit.Long ago people made clothes much different to now. They made them in the following manner.First they got the wool and washed it. Then it was left dry, then it was carded. When it was carded it was spun. They spun it in the following manner. First they got a spinning wheel and a stand. They then got a string to put round the wheel. The wheel is made in a circle like the wheel of a cart. The stand is made like a wheel with four legs under it. When the wheel was ready the thread was spun.
