A story is told about the robin and Our Saviour.
When Our Saviour was nailed to the Cross a robin came along and tried to take the nails out of His hands. He did not succeed and Our Lord shed a drop of His Precious Blood on the robin's breast in gratitude for his kindness. Ever since that time the robin has a red breast.
