- (ar lean ón leathanach roimhe)Otters:These appear once in a while - but only seldom as the local river does not contain Salmon owing to a large waterfall over which the Sea Fish cannot jump. About 2 years ago a brother of mine "started" two otters out of a large bush quite close to a river which contained no Sea fish. The two otters jumped into the River which was quite shallow and were killed by sticks (?) and hounds. Both otters were some 3 miles up[ beyond a large waterfall. They are often heard whistling during the "Soft Summer nights."
N.B. People say that the "Ferrets leavings" (milk) "take away measels."
