Ar an leathanach seo
- (ar lean ón leathanach roimhe)the leaves are turning black on the stalks the people start digging them. They are dug with a machine called a potato-digger.
A big crowd of neighbours gather together and they pick the potatoes. When the potatoes are dug they are put into pits for about two months. Then they are sorted, and the rotten potatoes are boiled, and given to the cattle. The good potatoes are kept for eating, and for seed. The names of the various kinds of potatoes set locally are Arran Banner, British Queens, Epicures, Up to Dates, White Champion, Red Champion, Presidents and Elephants.- Bailitheoir
