When a bargain is made the buyer marks the cattle on the backs with raddle and gives a ticket to the seller stating the number of animals and their price.
Colts or unbroken horses are led to the fair by a halter; trained horses are ridden in with bridle and saddle. In either case the seller must supply a halter when a sale takes place.
The fairs on June 27th and November 27th are the best of the fairs held in Kildorrery Co. Cork.
On the evening before Molagga fairs people brought cattle long distances to the farmers' places within a mile radius of the fair-field so as to be in good time for the start of the fair. When Molagga (Ahacross, Kildorrery, Co. Cork) fair was at its best it was usual to see about twelve large drink tents erected in the middle of the fair field and two or three others which supplied tea.
