Every house is decorated with holly at Christmas. The holly is hung all around the house and on pictures, before Christmas Day and left on until after Little Christmas Day. Ivy is also hung up with the holly. Palm is given to the people at every Catholic Church on Palm Sunday. They wear a piece of it on their clothes that day.
At Easter, Easter Water is brought from the Church and three mouthfulls are drunk by the inhabitants of each house. If Easter Water is kept for seven years it will cure any disease.
There are no crosses in this district made in honour of St. Patrick and St. Brigid. On St. Brigid's Day people put a ribbon on a bush. This is supposed to be a cure for a headache.
