    wounding others. Rev. Fr Fitzgerald and Fr. Maher C.C. accompanied by District Inspector O'Carroll arrived on the scene. The first act of the reverend gentlemen was to try and reach the house and attend to the dying. Smyth O'Brien and others were arrested and tried for high treason and were sentenced to penal servitude for life in Tasmania. Thus ended the revolt at the War House.
