always a week before the married or nine days. Long ago the people used to get married in their own houses but the priests stopped it because all the people used to be drunk and they used not know what they used to be doing. When the strawboys goes to the house they are dressed up in straw and they they go in each of them dance with the woman that got married and when they all dance with her the strawboys goes away. They cannot speak while they are inside or they cannot drink or eat. If anybody dies during shrove in a house no body in the house should get married for the year. Long ago it was in the night the man and woman used to get married.
