- There are many weeds growing on the farm at home namely, nettles, thistles, dandelions and briars. Some of these are harmful because they spread rapidly and because some of them impoverish the soil. Nearly all these weeds have medicinal properties. Some people boil the leaves of the dandelion and make tea called dandelion tea.Nettles are sometimes eaten as a vegetable also to purify the blood. Nettles are the favourite food of turkeys and ducks. Nettle water cures measles.
