- There were not many shops around here long ago. Nearly all the people went to the nearest town for their groceries. After mass every Sunday there were stalls put up outside the church.
Long ago there were four-penny bits, ten-penny bits and three shilling bits and double florins.In former times there were words used such as "boot" "tick" "cents" and "change".
