By a courtmartial as you shall hear
And their sentence was to be flagged severe.
But when Patrick Masterson got loose that night day,

    VII

He was tried, and sentenced, and guilty found,
A scaffold erected out in the square,

When all was ready he stood on the fall,
When James he shot him with a pistol ball.
    X

They were hanged that day on the gallows high,

We're going to die on our youth and bloom.
