    About one Cormac Clarke with his ass and a cart.

    When he gets up his load.
    He will start to the road.
    Some call him a rogue but I say it's a lie.
    Before he would wrong you the half of a penny.
    I vow and declare this poor merchant would die.

    The truth I am telling.
    At every man's dwelling along the Cavan line.
    He sold salts and senna to one Paddy Heaney.
    And good Irish bacon to Hughie O'Brien.
