It was said that the fairies were on a certain ridge of it. The childs grave was over on the last ridge beside Mrs Bradie's field. But no one knew which ridge the fairies were on. Their are none of these thing now since the Angelus came out. - The townland of Gallonreagh got its name from a numebr of white stones in the townland called Galláns. Patrick Farrell has a field called Gallán because there is a very big stone at the bottom of the field. It is almost grown over with moss now.
Also there is a smaller gallán just behind the house and it is in the middle of whins. This was used for pounding whins about fifty years ago to put worms out of horses. Men from the near-hand townlands for the cure.(continues on next page)- Collector
